This is to announce that Jared Ottmann is the winner of the seventh annual ELLWOOD Group, Inc. Metallurgy Scholarship. He is a junior at the University of Wisconsin-Madison in Madison, WI. Jared is majoring in Material Science and Engineering and carries a 2.95 GPA. Jared is the President of the American Foundry Society and is a member of the Center for Prototyping, Technology, and Advanced Manufacturing. While attending college, he has received other scholarships, including an Engineering Study Abroad Scholarship from the university. During the summer of 2013, he participated in the International Engineering Studies and Programs in Hangzhou, China. The award ceremony will take place at the University of Wisconsin in February 2014 and the scholarship award will be presented by Marie Russo, Director of Benefits and Human Resources at EGI. Jared is scheduled to complete an internship at an ELLWOOD business unit during the summer of 2014. EGI will also award scholarships to James Snyder and Joseph Jankowski, who were finalists for the scholarship. James is a junior at Ohio State University and is majoring in Material Science and Engineering. Joseph is a junior at the University of California, Berkeley with a major in Material Science and Engineering as well. All three students were provided with tours of ELLWOOD’s manufacturing facilities in New Castle, PA and had the opportunity to speak with several of the Company's metallurgists, engineers and other representatives.
