This is to announce that Joshua Young of Clinton Township, Michigan is the winner of the tenth annual ELLWOOD Group, Inc. Metallurgy Scholarship. He is a junior at Michigan State University in East Lansing, Michigan. Joshua is majoring in Materials Science and Engineering and carries a 3.82 GPA.
Joshua was selected as the recipient because he is an exceptional student, with a genuine interest in heavy metals manufacturing. He has relevant intern experience in a melt shop and will further his intern experience at an ELLWOOD business unit this summer.
The scholarship will be presented to Joshua by Marie Russo, EGI Director HR, at MSU in March 2017.
EGI will also award $5,000 scholarships each to Curtis Baker and Wesley Roth, who were finalists for the scholarship. Curtis is attending Montana Tech and majoring in Metallurgical and Materials Engineering. Wesley is attending the University of Illinois at Urbana – Champaign and majoring in Materials Science and Engineering.
All three students were provided with tours of ELLWOOD’s manufacturing facilities in New Castle, PA and had the opportunity to speak with several of the Company’s metallurgists, engineers and other representatives.
