ELLWOOD Group Inc. (EGI) has completed the acquisition of the assets of MC Machine, located in Cleveland, Ohio.
The assets were acquired by ELLWOOD City Forge (ECF) and will be operated by ELLWOOD City Forge doing business as ELLWOOD Ohio Machine (EOM). EOM employs 16 skilled nonunion employees. The principle assets include a large planer mill, several large horizontal boring mills, several large vertical turning lathes, and welding and fabrication equipment. The facility is 72,000 square feet with numerous cranes equipped with up to 70 ton lifting capacity.
ELLWOOD Ohio Machine provides fabricated, welded and machined components used in the power generation industry including gas, steam, nuclear and hydro. They also have experience manufacturing components for aerospace, mining equipment, locomotive and automotive industries.
The acquisition will allow ECF to utilize the equipment to produce large products used in many industries, including oil & gas and power generation. Additionally, we will look to expand the fabrication business and strengthen EOM’s position globally utilizing ECF’s market reach.
Rich Davis will be spending several days a week at the facility leading the transition of EOM into the ECF organization.
