(July 2006) In the second quarter of 2006, ELLWOOD Quality Steel (EQS) set a daily production record of 34 heats, a weekly record of 204 heats, and a monthly record of 836 heats. The annual ingot production is now estimated to exceed 400,000 NTs for 2006.

In addition, a slightly larger EAF transformer (35/42 MVA) has been ordered and will be installed in the summer of 2007. After required environmental permits are in place, the new equipment should make it possible to increase forging ingot production by another 10 percent.
