Michael A. Kamnikar, EGI’s Sr. VP, Marketing and Business Development, was elected President of the Forging Industry Association, Cleveland, OH, a North American-wide trade association of some 120 open die, seamless rolled ring and closed die forging member companies and 80 supplier members. He took office at the conclusion of the FIA’s Annual meeting in early May after serving one year as VP and is serving a one year term as President. The FIA serves as a clearing house for the exchange of technical and benchmarking information among its members, provides educational and promotional services, and employs lobbyists to advocate forging industry-friendly polices in Washington, DC. In this regard, Kamnikar testified before the House Subcommittee on Regulatory Affairs, Stimulus Oversight and Government Spending in March. Kamnikar has served in various executive capacities in EGI since 1981.
